Dinting Vale
The A57 to the west of Glossop.
On the right is the former Dinting Vale Print Works. This was run by Edmund Potter http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edmund_Potter grandfather of Beatrix http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatrix_Potter and at its peak around 1883 the largest calico printing factory in the world.

Trees by Glossop Brook
In Dinting Vale. Two lovely alders, I have long admired the multi-boled specimen on the far bank of the brook. I'm pleased to see that the managers of the Carpenter foam factory (on whose land it stands) have not felled it (yet!).

Entrance to Carpenter's
A foam manufacturer at the corner of Shaw Lane and Dinting Vale in Glossop. There's been a foam plant here for at least 30 years. It was formerly known as Draka Foam.
