Spinners Arms (1), Hadfield Road, Hadfield
The pub actually fronts onto a short unadopted road named Marsden Street, but the postal address and main road which it overlooks is Hadfield Road. The pub has a long history, and an early trade directory of 1835 shows that it was then run by a Jonathan Shaw. In recent years it has had rather a chequered history with frequent changes of landlord. Hopefully it has now entered a more stable period. In recent years it has been owned by Punch Taverns. The name is a reference to the cotton industry which dominated Glossopdale throughout the 19th and early 20th century. It was a Boddingtons tied house.
