Old Milepost by the A6 in Disley
Cast iron post by the A6, in parish of Disley (Macclesfield District), Fountain Square; at West corner of fountain, in pavement by railings, on South East side of road. Cast iron CCC1898, erected by the County Council in the 19th century.

1898 Milestone
The cast iron milestone on the A6 Image is Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1231555 The top face reads "Cheshire County Council" 1898. The right vertical face records distances to Whaley Bridge (4 miles) and Buxton (11). The left vertical face records distances to Stockport (6¾ miles) and Manchester (13) as well W H Smith & Co Makers Whitchurch and the initials D.H.

The Fountain, Disley
