Old Milestone by the B5470, west of Ginclough
Carved stone post by the B5470, in parish of Rainow (Macclesfield District), Rainow Road; on way to Ginclough, on the verge to dry stone wall, on South East side of road. Chapel Wedge, erected by the Macclesfield to Chapel en le Frith turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : To / Macclesfield / 3 M : : To / Chapel 8 M / Sheffield / 30 M / Chesterfield / 31 M : Grade II listed. Ginclough
Attractive spot where the footpath dips down to cross a small stream. Flowers out included Yellow Rattle (the clump of yellow flowers between the bridge and the large rock), Golden Saxifrage, Forget-me-not and Bluebell.
