The gasholder is intact
It's not just the giant frame that is still here. The cap of the gasholder itself can be seen, flush with the ground, and with the wheels that help it rise and fall on the legs intact and maintained. I suspect this installation is maintained in a working condition for some strategic purpose. It can be seen partially inflated in Image and Image from 2009

Gasholder leg
The top of one of the gasholder legs, showing how the lattice frame is tenoned into the cap of the leg. The vertical rail on the inside of the leg is for the wheel on the cap of the gasholder cylinder.

Decorative ironwork
The gasholder shown in Image has the legs braced by these delicate riveted lattice frames I find it fascinating that both the external face and the (normally invisible) interior face are decorated with steel roses. This sort of flourish would not happen in the straitened economics of the 20th century

Gasholder leg detail
Half way up each leg of the gasholder in Image are these bolted joints. They are made in two sections. The lattice braces are bolted here too. Note that the decorative roses are applied on both sides of the frame. Although the braces and vertical running rail are steel, the tubular legs are probably cast iron.
