The Brewery Tap pub
The pub is opposite the former Rayment's Brewery. The brewery was built in 1860 and was taken over by Greene King in 1928. It used water drawn from an artesian well on the site and continued to brew beer under the Rayment's label until 1987 when it closed.

Rayments Brewery
This is the former Rayment’s brewery. It was taken over by Greene King in 1928 however it continued to brew its smooth BBA and pleasant AK mild until 1987 when it was closed with promises that Rayment's would continue to be brewed at the beer factory in Bury St Edmunds. This lasted a few years until Rayment’s Beers passed into history like so many others G.K have extinguished.
