A lane in the village of Anstey, in north Hertfordshire. The signpost to the left of the image is unusual in having one modern arm and two arms which are older. The modern arm is likely to have been added to repair the sign following damage.

Anstey: Hillside and St George's lychgate
The house is much older than it appears: "C16, late C16 inserted floor and E end chimney, heightened to two storeys after fire in mid C20. Timber frame roughcast with red tilehung first floor and red pantiled roof" (Grade II listing). The lychgate is also Grade II listed. It dates from the 15th century or earlier and was altered in 1831 to include a lock-up with flint and brick walls.
