Lea Navigation, Hertford
Only a couple of minutes walk from the bustling centre of Hertford you come across this tranquil scene. The Hertford Branch of the Lea Navigation was opened in 1797 and while there is no commercial traffic now it is home to many residential narrow boats.

Hertford Bus Station
The bus station in Bircherley Green (sometimes spelt "Bircherly Green" on some road signs) with Arriva East Herts & Essex Dennis Trident double decker 5427 departing for Waltham Cross on route 310. In the background are similar vehicle 5428 and brand new Centrebus Optare Solo single decker 322 (YJ10EYO). The odd name of Bircherley Green is thought to be a corruption of Butchery Green, as this was the part of the town where local butchers plied their trade in mediaeval times.
