Hertford: Railway viaduct over the River Lee valley
The B158 Lower Hatfield Road passes through this arch of the viaduct while the River Lee passes through one to the left. The viaduct carries the railway to/from Hertford North station.

Brickendon Brook in Hertford (1)
The photograph was taken looking upstream along Brickendon Lane, only about 70 metres upstream of the brook's confluence with the River Lee. Worryingly the bed of the brook here in March is totally dry. The long metal bars protect the culvert that runs under Horns Mill Road from large items of debris, while the dense mesh grille is a platform for maintenance workers.
