Draughts Public House, Eltham
On Eltham High Street.
Was once known as the Chequers Public house.
Has a Grade II listed milestone fixed to the building. (Just seen behind the lamppost).

Old Milestone by the A210, High Street, Eltham
Metal plates attached to stone post by the A210, in parish of ELTHAM (GREENWICH District), Eltham High Street SE9, in wall of the Cactus Tree (formerly Chequers PH) No. 34, against wall in pavement, on South side of road. New Cross marker, erected by the New Cross turnpike trust in the 19th century.
Inscription reads:-

Eltham shops (5)
Eltham has a good range of shops, but they are strung out along the main roads leading away from the parish church, rather than there being one "shopping centre". This set is on Eltham Hill, opposite the church, and as of 2011 included an ink cartridge refill centre, Chinese takeaway, two convenience stores and "Draughts" public house (formerly the "Chequers").
