St. Luke’s Parish Church at the junction of Dumbreck and Westmount Roads, Eltham Park. It was built in 1906-07 to replace a temporary mission church and is constructed of red brick with stone dressings. The architect, Temple Moore (1856–1920) was born in Ireland and educated at Glasgow High School. In 1875 he was articled to George Gilbert Scott, Jr.. after which he set up his own practice in London in 1878, although continuing to work with Scott for several years. Moore’s work was mainly focused on new churches, additions to existing churches and restorations. His output was prolific and although his commissions were almost entirely in England, he designed the Anglican Cathedral of Nairobi (1917-18). The parish hall is also visible.
