This is part of the Catford one way system. Turn left to join the A205 South Circular towards Dulwich, go ahead for Lewisham. This photo is a typical example of the disjointed nature of the South Circular -- there are many other examples as well.

Catford Road entering the town centre
As I recently discovered from a Catford ex-resident, Ben Elton, there is nothing to do with cats in the name (besides the one just along the road welcoming shoppers), it is abbreviated from Cattleford. That's a shame really but makes a lot more sense.
