Blackheath Park
Blackheath Park is a very attractive private estate. This view is of late 18th or early 19th century houses in the road called Blackheath Park, with the slim spire of St Michael and All Angels beyond, dubbed the Needle of Kent. The church dates from the 1820s and was part of the development of Blackheath Park - see https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2394704

The spire of St Michael & All Angels, Blackheath Park
Situated at the main cross roads on the Cator Estate, Blackheath Park, the church of St Michael & All Angels was completed in 1830. It was dubbed the Needle of Kent in honour of its tall, thin spire (and also nicknamed the Devil's Pick or The Devil's Toothpick). Writing in Nairn's London, Ian Nairn commented that the church was far more individual than the usual run. He went on to say: "The pinnacles here are something more than a studious crib from a pattern-book, and certainly no pattern-book would advise the highly successful eastern tower which means that there is a double east window."
