Sun in the Sands inn
The inn stands right by the junction where the A2 coming out of London meets the A102 coming out of the Blackwall Tunnel and from this point the modern dual carriageway adopts the A2 identity. But the Sun in the Sands, which gave its name to the junction, has a history going back centuries as a coaching inn on the Dover Road.

Band outside a pub
A folk band (three guitars, drums and two vocalists) perform outside the Sun-in-the-Sands pub on Shooters Hill for the entertainment of runners in the 2008 London Marathon (and spectators!)

Alaturka restaurant
In my previous shot of these buildings Image the pub (Sun in the Sands) occupied all the main building. The eastern half of it is now the Alaturka mediterranean restaurant. The nearer shop unit had changed hands since 2008 but was once again closed and to let.
