Taking the Crystal Palace line at Sydenham
This class 377 electric train of Southern Railway is diverging from the main Brighton line south of Sydenham station to take the line through Crystal Palace on its way to London Victoria.

Sydenham station
Local Southern services to London Bridge from Sydenham are provided by trains which have come, either from Caterham via East Croydon, or from Victoria via Clapham Junction and Crystal Palace. Here, unit No 455 825, on a working from Victoria to London Bridge, is seen about to enter the station.

Sydenham Station bridge
Bridge carrying Sydenham Road across the railway at Sydenham station. Beyond the bridge on the opposite site of the railway is the site of the original northbound station platform. The northbound platform had its own entrance and ticket office. It closed in around 1982, replaced by a new platform further north which was connected by footbridge to the southbound platform and ticket office.
