Former Selhurst Grammar School for Boys
The original Selhurst Grammar School converted to Selhurst High School in 1970, closed in 1987, and re-opened when the Ingram School moved here under the confusing name of Selhurst High School. More recently, the school has specialised in Mathematics and Computing, but finally closed in 2008. On the occasion of my visit, filming was taking place for "The Bill". A six part mini-series, of this popular programme, was broadcast in the summer of 2009. Very strange, seeing some of the classrooms for the first time in 36 years! Harry Carpenter and Malcolm Muggeridge were "old boys" of this school. http://www.theoldcroydonians.org.uk/

The BRIT School, Selhurst
The BRIT School for performing arts has seen much talent pass through its doors in recent years. See link below for more details. http://www.brit.croydon.sch.uk/ To the left of picture is the former Selhurst High School (now closed) which was recently used as the location for a mini series of programmes in "The Bill", broadcast in April 2009. The school in the picture was the Girls school; most of the filming was done in the Boys school, and playground, which lie behind the Girls school.

Railway Bridge, Dagnall Park, Selhurst
The main London to Brighton line crosses this railway bridge which is adjacent to Selhurst Station. The three small yellow security cameras have not deterred the graffiti artists or the placing of soft toys on the bridge. See https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1466263 for a view of the other side of the bridge.
