Railway bridge, Turney Road
Pevsner singles out a number of the "unusually ornate" railway structures around Dulwich. They were designed by Charles Barry junior on behalf of the governors of Dulwich College. This bridge, on the line between Herne Hill and West Dulwich stations, has quite ornate cast iron details. After a lot of detective work I was able to establish that it was built in 1863.

Local Signpost
There are quite a lot of these old fashioned finger posts around here. Much more stylish, though possibly harder to read, than the usual road signs.

Herne Hill: Giant Arches Road and railway viaduct, SE24
The London, Brighton & South Coast Railway built this viaduct around 1866 to span a valley between the present day North Dulwich and Tulse Hill stations, long before there were any roads or any residential development in the area.
