The conservatory, originally from the Horniman family home at Coombe Cliffe in Croydon, was reconstructed at the Horniman, and opened in October 1989.

Cast-iron and glass conservatory built 1894 for Frederick Horniman by the Macfarlane and Company of the Saracen Foundry, Glasgow. Moved from its original site at Horniman's home, Combe Cliffe, to its present site next to the Horniman Museum in 1988.
