Dulwich Picture Gallery, Gallery Road
By John Soane, 1811-14, partly rebuilt after Second World War damage. As well as a gallery, it originally incorporated almshouses (now galleries) and a mausoleum for Noel Desenfans whose art collection partly formed the basis of the gallery. The building is typical of Soane's idiosyncratic style in its minimalist Classicism - there are, for example, none of the usual mouldings - and the recurring use of the arch. As Pevsner remarks, the minimalism means that it could almost pass for a building of the C20th. Grade II* listed.

A serpentine path to the west of the gallery.
One of the trees is marked as a Dawyk Beech (Fagus sylvatica Dawyk). More normally it appears to be spelt 'ck'.
