The steepness of the hill means that from upper storey windows there is a commanding view: east, west, and southwards to the North Downs. A few of the properties in Belvedere Road make the most of the opportunity by incorporating their own tower - or belvedere.

Belvedere Road (1)
A road of comfortable villas. Two further down have splendid towers to take advantage of the extensive views across what would originally have been farms, orchards, fields and woodland, but is now mostly a south-east London roofscape (see here for a closer view: Image]).
