St Paul Penge: last survivor of the old church
St Paul Penge was previously a Victorian building, tucked between buildings and described in Betjeman's guide to English parish churches as "very mad Gothic"; it was demolished in 1970 despite protests from the Victorian Society. Now that a modern structure has replaced that, this pillar from the old wall around the churchyard is probably the last surviving bit of the old church.
