Bus on Anerley Hill, Crystal Palace
NV126, one of the large fleet of Northern Counties Palatine bodied Volvo Olympians purchased by London General (and its sister company, London Central) in the mid to late 1990s, lays over on Anerley Hill after arriving from Morden on route 157. This was the terminus of this route before the current Crystal Palace bus station was built, the buses turning using the roundabout at the south end of Crystal Palace Parade.

Crystal Palace Park bollard, Anerly Hill, south London
The park is behind the buildings and fences on the right so presumably the bollard is a boundary marker. This is near the Museum, open for a couple of hours on Sunday afternoons and worth a visit.

Anerley Hill
A 410 bus grinds its way up the final stretch of the climb to Crystal Palace on the route from Wallington. The height of the Sydenham Hill ridge compared with the surrounding area is apparent from this view.

The Crystal Palace Museum
The Crystal Palace was constructed for the Great Exhibition in Hyde Park in 1851. It was reconstructed at this site in Sydenham and reopened in 1854. The museum houses many objects and documents relating to events that took place in the building and grounds over the years from 1851 through to 1936 when it burnt down. This building dates from about 1880 and was built to house the Crystal Palace Company's School of Practical Engineering.
