Each flat in the lower terrace, left, will have a front entrance, often highly personalised, and a small private outside space. They have the Wychwood Way address. Central Hill estate ? Oakwood Drive
These are the front entrances of the flats seen on the right in Image Flats is perhaps a misnomer; these homes are more like terraced maisonettes, if not houses.

Hawke Road, Norwood
Hawke Road offers quite a contrast in the forms housing can take. On the right Lambeth Council's Central Hill estate confidently comes to rest at the foot of its hillside site. On the right a block of probably-post-millennium flats shows all its features. Up the road are big handsome Victorian terraces and villas.

North on the plan is at approximately 10 o'clock. The vertical arrangement of the estate can only be appreciated and experienced by being there, although photographs capture some of the exhilarating views upwards and downwards.
