Judas Tree in flower, Dulwich Wood Avenue, Crystal Palace, London
The scientific name is Cercis siliquastrum. It is a member of the Pea familiy, Fabaceae, with pink pea-like flowers and nearly-circular simple leaves. A native of the Eastern Mediterranean, it was introduced to Britain before 1600.
