Woolwich: The Royal Arsenal Gatehouse
Built in 1829 along the north side of Beresford Square, the Gatehouse was once the main entrance to the Royal Arsenal. Today the building is separated from the rest of the Royal Arsenal site by the A206 road.

Opening day at Woolwich DLR station (1)
The Powis Street entrance to the new DLR station, seen under construction in Image In addition to normal staff on the ticket barrier, there were several 'security' staff and police about, though no obvious threat to deal with.

Opening day at Woolwich DLR station (2)
Second in a sequence starting with Image The Powis Street entrance to the new DLR station. Ticket barriers can be seen inside the station: most DLR stations have no barriers but this one has an internal interchange with National Rail platforms, so there needs to be security of ticketing.
