Lorrimore Square
Lorrimore Square dates from c1856 and gets its name from the fact that it was built at the south-west edge of the former Lorrimore (or Lower-moor) Common which was enclosed in 1769. Only one side from the original mid-19th century housing of Lorrimore Square survives and that is seen here. On the right are the railings of St Paul's Church - see http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2706637

St Paul's Church Lorrimore Square London
St Paul's was destroyed by enemy bombs during the Second World War. When the church was rebuilt this futuristic design was created. The place of worship is on the first floor and ground floor became an easily accessible day centre. The roof is built of copper.
