Peter Hills bridge, Russia Dock Woodland
The wooden footbridge crosses a shallow stream running through the woods, which are an artificial creation within the infilled Russia Dock. A metal arch over the centre of the bridge bears the name of Peter Hills, one of the major figures in Rotherhithe's history (master mariner and founder of a local school).

Technically this is a ford, although as the moorhen wading in it shows, the water is no more than 5cm deep in the middle. There is a parallel bridge in any case Image
