Brunel Engine House
This is the pumping engine house associated with the Rotherhithe end of Marc Brunel's Thames tunnel. The first tunnel under the Thames. The engine house has now had a metal chimney extension on the square brick base seen in the centre.

Brunel Engine House, steam pumping engine
This is not the original but was relocated from a lock pumping station at HM Dockyard, Chatham. Built by J & G Rennie of london, probably in 1879, it remained at use until 1977, latterly on compressed air. It is a most unusual design of horizontal vee (or angle compound) with a vertical crankshaft driving down to a centrifugal pump. Sadly, it was decided that it didn't fit in here and it has now gone to Preston near Canterbury.

Sunshine Weekly and the Pilgrim's Pocket
This life sized bronze statue depicts the astonishment of a 17th century Pilgrim at a boy reading a 1930’s comic, whilst a frisky Staffordshire Bull Terrier clamours for attention. The pilgrim’s pocket contains an A-Z, dated 1620! The statue reflects the area’s past connection to the Pilgrims. Erected by the Mayflower Tenants Association near Cumberland Wharf in 1991.

Swan with Two Heads pub (site of) Swan Road, Rotherhithe, London, SE16
It was at the junction with Rotherhithe Street from 1683 to 1813. I believe it was on the left i.e. where the car is parked on the driveway. This is based on a description I read - "on an island". Many years ago Swan Road forked around a building and even in the early 1960's an alley isolated a granary type building where the corner house is. Building on the right is Winchelsea House of the Swan Estate. Previously called 'Floating Dock' and the 'Two Knecked Swan' - both these names could be linked to an 'island'.
