Bermondsey: St. James' Church
A very old man I met outside told me that the wood for the doors of this church, which was consecrated in 1829, came from one of Nelson's ships that fought at the Battle of Trafalgar.

St James, Bermondsey - proclamation (1)
I'm not sure what to call this feature and its partner
Image - "proclamation" is the best I could come up with. They are tablets set high up in the west wall of the church, so high that I had visited several times before noticing them. They originally contained Bible verses (this one was "we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord", 2 Corinthians 4:5); later overwritten by a credal statement "one lord, one faith, one baptism".
