68 Enid Street SE1
Scooter shop under the arches of the London Bridge railway line. I lived here in the late eighties and early nineties before all the regeneration and gentrification. There was always an odd corner worth exploring. It felt like I was on constant holiday.

Viaduct, Enid Street
Prodigiously long viaduct just outside London Bridge station built for the London and Greenwich Railway in 1833-36 by G. Landmann. Grade II listed. The arches are now used for small businesses, ironically mostly car-related. At the end is an old water tower (Image]).

Cash Zone, Spa Road
A contemporary cash machine-cum-public-telephone on the street. Unlike the cashpoints in banks, machines such as this charge (typically £1.50) for a withdrawal. But that's no more than the cost of a bus fare into the city.
