New council homes in Bermondsey
Since the 1980s, the number of council homes has dwindled as homes have been sold off, while few new council homes have been built.
Southwark Council, in inner South East London, is embarking on an ambitious programme to build thousands of new council homes over the years ahead.
This block in Bermondsey is one of the first to have been completed with tenants moving in at the end of 2015.

Ros Stark House, Willow Walk, Bermondsey
This is one of a pair of buildings providing affordable housing for Southwark residents, erected in 2015. I was waiting for them to be completed before taking a photo but this was my last week working in the area, when the contractors were still fitting out the inside and doing external work.
The building is named in honour of Roslyn Stark (1945-2014), a Southwark housing officer.

Fallen branches, Willow Walk
After what had been billed as the strongest storm in Southern England for ten years, there was actually not much evidence of damage the next morning. This tree on the corner of Curtis Street was the only fallen one I saw in my 11km journey to work.

The Claremont
This pub appeared to be open - becoming a London rarity - but zooming in on the notices in the windows it appears it is temporarily closed! Let's hope it is only a short closure.
