Ex-LB&SCR 0-6-2T at Bricklayer's Arms Locomotive Depot
The most numerous of Robert Billinton's several varieties of 0-6-2Ts were his E4 class, one of which has survived in preservation - on the Bluebell Railway, with its original name 'Birch Grove': No. 473 was built 8/1898 and withdrawn as 32473 in 10/62. Here it is on the turntable at Bricklayer's Arms Depot in 1959.

155 Old Kent Road
A funny little survival, not much to look at, but formerly the house and offices of eminent south London architect Michael Searles, built 1800. One wonders why he didn't knock himself up something more lavish. Grade II listed.

Abandoned ex-LB&SC 0-6-0T at Bricklayer's Arms Depot
L. Billinton class E2 0-6-0T No. 32107 seems in April 1959 to be abandoned but was not actually condemned until 2/61; it was built 3/16. Like most of the other nine of the class, it had worked on shunting and station pilot duties in the London area.
