View from Norwood Park (7)
Looking north-east towards the twin peaks of London, the veteran City to the west (Image]) and, about three miles to the east, the new kid on the block, Canary Wharf (Image]). Everything else looks pretty flat. Shot taken from Summersell House which overlooks the park.

Overground depot headshunt, New Cross Gate
Signal EL 300 on the right seems to be principally for trains setting back wrong line to enter the depot via the connection with a 15 limit in the distance. There also appears to be provision for trains to reverse at New Cross Gate and return to the north, but this is not a regular timetable feature. The usual northbound track is on the other side of the station, and crosses the main lines via the bridge on the left.

East London Line train at New Cross Gate ? 1970
A single track served for the terminus of this branch of the East London Line, still operated as part of the Metropolitan Line. The line was the last haunt of the pre-war Q Stock with its distinctive clerestory roofs. The extensive freight and carriage sidings seen here have all disappeared
