New Cross: A small market
This part of Monson Road is closed to vehicular traffic, and one or two market stalls are often to be found there. They appear to be making use of one of the small buildings of All Saints Institute.

St James's Cottage, 41 New Cross Road SE14
Listed grade 2 (list entry number 1079965). Described as a "Mid C19 villa of 2 tall storeys and basement". The name is significant: St James's parish (to which it presumably relates) was created in 1845 and its church Image opened in 1854, but the nearby church of All Saints Image, whose parish it now lies in, was built in 1869-71, so I guess the cottage can be dated between those end dates.
