The Lord Clyde
A pub on the corner of Clennam Street (left) and Ayres Street (foreground). For another view see Image It appears to have been a popular name for late-Victorian pubs: see this search result http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=14171358 for others. The peerage is a hereditary one so it is not clear which Lord is commemorated by the name, though the most likely is the first one, Colin Campbell, who was given the title for his part in the Battle of Balaclava. http://www.nndb.com/people/077/000094792/

Sculpture outside Southwark Cathedral School
This sculpture at the entrance of Image celebrates 300 years of the school, 1704-2004. The text on the boy's book reads "what is this life if full of care / we have no time to stand and stare" (William Henry Davies) which could be a good motto for Geograph contributors!
