Bankside power station and St George the Martyr church
Viewed from the roof of 165 Gt. Dover St. The power station is now the Tate Modern art gallery. The visible chimney plume is largely steam, and results from the flue gas washing plant. This was a very unusual feature, but a condition for continued operation in this city centre location. The church is on Borough High St.

Playground in Little Dorritt Park
The park is of course named after the eponymous heroine of Dickens' novel, who famously slept in the vestry of St George's church, visible in the background of the photo. It has been a playground for around 100 years although the present equipment is much newer.
