Ashburnham Retreat: play street
This short side street links Ashburnham Grove and Ashburnham Place. It bears a sign declaring it a "play street" during the day, and here a few children take advantage of that in the evening sunshine.

Chimneys on Ashburnham Grove
Six chimneys per house: presumably two fireplaces on each of the first floor, ground floor and basement (servants' quarters), when these houses in an upmarket part of West Greenwich were built in the 1820s.

The Ashburnham Arms, Greenwich
As far as drinking in Greenwich is concerned, this is the town's best kept secret. Even on a Friday evening when the town centre pubs are packed, you can get a seat inside or in the beer garden of this Shepherd Neame pub on a quiet back-street only a few minutes walk from the railway station. The pub, built in 1850, was named after the Ashburnham family who laid out the estate in the 1820s. The arms of the family are on the pub sign Image Source: http://edithsstreets.blogspot.com/2010/03/thames-tributary-ravensbourne_16.html
