Former coal merchant
The "ghost sign" on the wall of this building on Point Hill Image lists some of the products once sold here: corn, coal and hay. In other words, the essentials for a city dependent on steam-powered industry and on horses for transportation.

Former chapel on King George Street
The "Old Chapel" (left) has a datestone of 1879. I have not yet found what denomination it was. The white building to the right is also in the same architectural style.
