St Crannogs Church, Llangrannog
The Celtic saint Caranog was also known as Carantus, Cranog and Carantacus. His father was Corun, the son of the great Ceredig, from whom we have the name for the county of CEREDIGION. Corun ruled over South Wales, which then incorporated parts of South West England. He was anxious that Caranog succeeded him to the throne, but Caranog refused and became a missioner. These early Saints did most of their travelling by sea, following the coast and never went far inland. It is known that Caranog flourished in these parts somewhere from 480 A.D. 540 A.D. - his influence covers a wide area because there are churches dedicated to his name in several areas.

Wheels have been used to form fencing by the Nant Hawen. The broken tractor seat looks a bit uncomfortable though.

Dol Meddyg
Mervyn Davies yn ysgrifennu yn 'The Story of Llangrannog,' (EL Jones and Son) Dol Meddyg y dafarn hynaf oedd yn Llangrannog (dôl y meddyg) sy'n bwthyn ger y brif fynedfa i'r eglwys ac roedd yn dafarn hyd at tua 1890. Roedd y tafarnwr olaf yn bersonoliaeth adnabyddus iawn ac yn eithaf hyblyg. Nid yw'n hysbys a yw y dyn hwn, David Jones, a oedd yn adnabyddus fel 'Dafi Doctor' yn llysieuydd neu un a oedd yn dda am wneud eli a meddyginiaethau ai peidio. ' Mervyn Davies writes in 'The Story of Llangrannog,' (E. L. Jones and Son) : 'The oldest inn was at Dol-Meddyg (the doctor's meadow) which is a cottage near the main entrance to the church and was an inn up to about 1890. The last publican was a very well known personality and quite versatile. It is not known whether or not this man, David Jones, who was known as 'Dafi Doctor' was a herbalist or one who was good at making ointments and medicaments.'
