Aberystwyth - Carmarthen train at Pencarreg Halt
View NE, towards Aberystwyth; ex-GW Aberystwyth - Carmarthen line, closed by flooding 14/12/64, officially 22/2/65. The 11.55 from Aberystwyth is headed by 4-6-0 No. 7818 'Granville Manor' (built 1/39, withdrawn 1/65). No passengers, it would seem.

Llyn Pencarreg
This acidic lake, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) lies in the north-east quarter of the gridsquare to the north of Pencarreg village and is locally important for the diversity of wintering waterfowl and for the breeding of pochard. The lake has no inflow or outflow streams and is assumed to have an artesian water supply. The maximum recorded depth is about 10 metres (33 feet).

Llyn Pencarreg
This is quite a large man-made lake. There are some Canada geese just visible by the near shore and in the distance, you can see scattered houses in the village of Alltyblaca.
