Carmarthen railway station
Viewed along Station Approach. The station is located on the south bank of the River Towy. Formerly, railway lines crossed the Towy beyond the NE edge of the station, but Carmarthen is now a 'dead-end' station (but not technically a terminus). All trains arrive from the SW and depart in the same direction. They are then routed in the correct direction at the triangular-shaped Carmarthen Junction, 600 metres away.
