CHAPMANS is embossed in stone between two upper-floor windows on the right. The building, 235 High Street, was where Henry Alfred Chapman (1844-1915) set up his shop, photographic studio and family home. Chapman was mayor of Swansea (1892-93). After his death in 1915, the business was run by his children.The shop closed in 1950.

Public Defender Service office in Swansea
