"The Steelmen" at Meadowhall
The real name of this bronze grouping is "Teeming" by the Canadian sculptor Robin Bell. Completed between 1989 and 1990 the sculpture commemorates and celebrates Sheffield's steel heritage. It used to stand under cover in the heart of the Meadowhall shopping complex but - for whatever reason - was shifted outside a couple of years ago. It is known locally and affectionately as "The Steelmen".

"The Steelmen" at Meadowhall - (Detail I)
Close up feature of the work of Canadian sculptor Robin Bell - outside The Meadowhall shopping complex. When dealing with molten metal, Sheffield and Rotherham steelworkers would often stuff water-soaked neckerchiefs into their mouths to try to offset the gruesome industrial heat.
