Bishops' House
Bishops' House in Meersbrook Park was built around 1500. Local folk-law claims that two Bishops grew up here, though this belief is not supported by any known documents. The house was occupied, almost continually until 1976, when it was restored and opened to the public as a museum. Bishops' House is managed by the Friends of Bishops' House, a voluntary organization dedicated to the welfare and future of the house. See the link for details of opening times. http://www.bishopshouse.org.uk/

Bishops House, Meersbrook, Sheffield
The oldest timber framed building in Sheffield. This is one for the apostrophe enthusiasts. You'll find it as Bishops, Bishop's or Bishops' depending on where you look. I've abstained, but read the long story and make your own decision, see; http://www.bishopshouse.org.uk/index.php/history

Bishops' House, Sheffield
Bishops' House is the best example of a timber framed house in Sheffield. It was once a farm surrounded by fields. It was built at the end of the 15th.Century, around the time two members of the Blythe family became Bishops. In 1886 ownership passed to the Sheffield City Council and various recreation department employees lived in the house until 1974. It is a Grade II* listed building and has been open as a museum since 1976.
