Old milestone
On Greenhill Main Road, this stone has been painted. It is the only stone from the 1781 Greenhill Moor to Hathersage turnpike that is in Yorkshire. It was extended to Gleadless in 1825. The stone originally stood a short distance to the east near where the Greenhill Parkway, B6054, was built. Several more stones of this style still survive on the Derbyshire part of the route towards Calver.
