Shireoaks Station and Old signal box
Looking towards Worksop the next station on the Sheffield to Lincoln railway line. The signals are controlled from Worksop now and the former signal box is only for emergency use of the level crossing which is also controlled from Worksop by CCTV.

Former public house at Shireoaks
No indication on old maps of what the name might have been, but it's right next to the station, so. . . The local history society website records it as having been built at the same time as the railway, and it could well have been at the instigation of the Duke of Newcastle, as with most of the other local buildings of the same era.

Shireoaks railway station
Opened in 1849 by the Manchester Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway on the line from Sheffield to Lincoln. View east towards Worksop and Lincoln. The main building used to be at the far end of the right-hand platform but this is believed to have been demolished in the 1980s.
