Bridge over Moorend Lane
This bridge once carried the Silkstone West to Wombwell Junction railway line. This was one of the steepest gradients on a British railway. The noise of four locomotives getting a loaded coal train up the bank to Penistone must have been terrific.

Walking the Thurgoland Boundary Walk near Silkstone Common
This photograph shows the Dove Valley Trail which runs along the southern edge of Silkstone Common, South Yorkshire. The walkers are heading East at this point in an attempt to complete the Thurgoland Boundary Walk.

Path to the Huskar Colliery Disaster Monument
26 children aged from 7 to 17 drowned in a disaster at the Huskar Pit in 1838, 11 of them girls. That led to the Mines Act of 1842 which prohibited girls and boys under the age of ten from working underground. See; https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6525539
