Sleepers of the Silkstone waggonway
The narrow gauge waggonway was built in 1809 to carry coal to the Barnby Basin on the Barnsley Canal. It closed in 1872 having lost all its traffic to the railway. These stone sleepers supported cast iron rails. This part of the route is now a bridleway.
