Huskar Community Rooms, Silkstone
Keeping alive memories of the Huskar Pit where 26 children aged from 7 to 17 drowned in a disaster in 1838, 11 of them girls. That led to the Mines Act of 1842 which prohibited girls and boys under the age of ten from working underground.

Silkstone waggonway commemorative stone and replica wagon
"It was built in 1809 by the Barnsley Canal Navigation Company who were granted an Act of Parliament in 1808 for its construction. It transported coal from the collieries in the Silkstone valley 2½ miles from Silkstone Cross to Barnby Basin at Cawthorne where the canal terminates."
