Old church gone to the scaffold
It had long since ceased to be a church when it caught fire in 2008, already surrounded by scaffolding. It seems nobody wants, or can afford, to demolish it, or renovate it.

Little Mester
On Abbeydale Road,at Highfield in Sheffield, a row of terrace houses. Between 99 and 101 a plaque is inset into the brickwork above the passageway. It depicts a man, wearing a hat. He might perhaps have been a local knife maker. "Mester" is the Sheffield dialect for master, and the term refers mostly to self employed men making cutlery or other edge tools.
